Ciao Padre S!
April 9, 2008 by fmn2
My dear friends,
Today I received the sad news that our beloved Padre Salvatore passed away yesterday. I knew his time was coming soon, and I was so surprised and touched that he called me last Thursday to say hello…well I guess it was goodbye.
I’m very sad right now - I actually feel as though I’ve lost a very close relative, but I guess the 500 emails we exchanged over the past four and a half years attest to the fact that I consider him my spiritual father, and he considers me his spiritual daughter. God knows, I am so grateful for this!
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts over the past year.
If you have trouble with the video just copy and paste the url in your search engine thingy…whatever it’s called!

Aw :’
That’s one of the nicest sendoffs a spiritual daughter could ever give him.
He is at peace, now, and surely surely he is hearing, “Well done, good and faithful friend.”
Truly a saint and man of God with an infectious smile! My sincerest sympathy in the loss of your very dear friend. I know you will miss him but knowing you have an advocate now must give you consolation and hope. God bless you! Cathy
May God bless you and fill you in your sorrow.
o pia I am so sorry but he is a saint in heaven now looking after you I will keep you in my prayers and offer my rosary up for all tonight God bless and love and hugs xxxxx
I am so sorry Pia.
Your meeting on the Earth is a beginning of an endless spiritual union, I’m sure. Your feelings for him and your story about him made me to feel his special vocation of love.
Rest in peace You , noble soul!
Hugs Pia, God bless you!
Sending a (((hug))) Pia, this is really a loss, I am so sorry!
A dear spiritual father resting in the Lord, but keeping one eye on his spiritual daughter, always, always. Condolences, Pia. May P.S. rest in peace. I’m glad you spoke with him such a short while ago, and I know from experience that the words you said and more particularly the words he said will be treasured now.
Dear Friends, thank you all so much!
I’ve been told by family members that over 200,000 people went to his funeral, and the city declared 3 days of public mourning. He was buried on the church grounds. It was a sad, but joyous occasion. And yes, i do feel him very close to me right now.
His website posted my video on the first page!
There is an email address if anyone wants to leave a message. It doesn’t matter if it’s written in English…he doesn’t need a translator anymore!

Check it out (the website I mean…
Hi, Pia. I hope you got my email, I was having no luck getting a comment through. What a beautiful testimony the video you made is. How loved P.S. was (and is) - imagine, 200,000 people and 3 days of public mourning. You were so blessed to have had him in your life, and close to you still. He was truly a good shepherd.
Dear -Gab,
Thank you so much, yes I did get the email. I hope to be able to reply this weekend to you and a few others who have written to me.
I had the most beautiful dream the other night. PS was in a huge, beautiful room filled with presents and treasures. He was his old self again..dazzling smile and all, and he was actually wrapping gifts!
He showed me around (he was barefoot like he always was when we went down to the beach in his hometown to visit him), and he said, pointing to a mountain of presents: “These are for my brothers and sisters, who never left me alone for one minute during my illness…they gave me so much love”. These are for the children of my community…. and this is for you (he gave me something very precious, but I don’t remember what it was) and then he gave me a handful of blue coins made of lapis lazuli, which he said were for my husband.
I feel him so close to me at every moment. It’s a wonderful feeling.
A heavenly dream, Pia, if it was a dream…there he is, still giving.
Coming to this late (as I no longer check on all my pals daily) but I would like to offer my condolences to you Pia. May your dear one rest in peace and now offer many prayers for you and those whom he served and who served him. Peace.
